1. Appam Pancake:


All the way from South India, appam pancake is sweet and delicious.
Ingredients:
  • One cup of rice (raw)
  • Half a cup of poha
  • One cup of yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • Salt for taste
  • 4 tablespoons of jaggery
  • 4 tablespoons of grated coconut
  • One teaspoon of haldi
Steps:
  1. Soak the rice for a few hours and drain it.
  2. Make a thick mixture out of water, poha, jaggery, turmeric, yoghurt and salt.
  3. Add coconut too. And let it stay overnight.
  4. Now put some oil in the pan and spread the batter. Cover the lid and cook for two minutes.
  5. Repeat with the batter that is remaining.
  6. Serve with chutney.

2. Lemon Grass Tea:

Ingredients:
  • Half a cup of lemon grass, chopped
  • Half a cup of mint leaves
  • One teaspoon of tea leaves
  • Jaggery for taste
Steps:
  1. Mix the mint leaves, lemon grass and jaggery with 5 cups of water. Boil it.
  2. Now lower the flame and fill three cups.
  3. Remove the flame and add the tea leaves to infuse.
  4. Strain and serve fresh.

3. Methiche Varan:


Methiche Varan is a simple dal recipe that is usually eaten with rotis or rice.
Ingredients:
  • One cup of methi leaves
  • One cup of arhar dal
  • One teaspoon of gur
  • Half a teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • Half a teaspoon of chilli powder
  • Salt for taste
Steps:
  1. Clean and soak dal in water for a period of 30 minutes.
  2. Now cook it using turmeric powder. Add 3 cups of water too.
  3. Whisk well and add jaggery and some chilli powder.
  4. Now heat some oil in a pan and add garlic.
  5. Saute till it has turned golden.
  6. Add fenugreek seed leaves and sauté for 2 minutes again.
  7. Now pour this over the dal that is cooked.
  8. Serve hot.

4. Apple Punch:


Apple Punch is something you can prepare at home for your toddler.
Ingredients:
  • Half a cup of peeled and grated apples
  • One tablespoon of jaggery
Steps:
  1. Boil water in a pan. Add apples and jaggery and keep aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Strain so that you can get your punch. Serve lukewarm to your baby.

Ingredients:
  • Half a cup of tulsi
  • 4 teaspoons of jaggery
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
Steps:
  1. Blend both the tulsi leaves and jaggery.
  2. Now place the mixture in a bowl; add lemon juice and boiled water.
  3. Strain with the help of a strainer.
  4. Serve hot.

6. Guava And Cottage Cheese Salad:


Guava and cottage cheese salad tastes absolutely amazing. It is healthy and should definitely be tried once.
Ingredients:
  • 14 arugula leaves
  • Salt and pepper for taste
  • One teaspoon of olive oil
  • One large apple, diced
  • One large guava, diced
  • One small cucumber
  • Two tablespoons of cottage cheese
  • One teaspoon of alfalfa sprouts
  • 2 grated pieces of jaggery
  • 2 tsp tamarind pulp
Method:
  1. Pat the rocket leaves dry and refrigerate them.

  4. Combine the jaggery, tamarind pulp and black salt till it dissolves.
